Snooker scores: Kyren Wilson beats Barry Hawkins in epic German Masters final | Other | Sport

Kyren Wilson beat Barry Hawkins 10-9 in a scintillating German Masters final to round off a stunning week of snooker action at the Berlin Tempodrom.

Wilson clinched his third title of the season as world champion, adding to his Xi’an Grand Prix and Northern Ireland Open wins, by sealing a deciding frame after being taken all the way by his opponents.

It’s another defeat for Hawkins having also lost out to Judd Trump in the UK Championship showpiece.

Wilson lifted the Brandon Parker Trophy and won £100,000 and said after: “We both could have probably played better, but I felt like it was a really good dramatic final.

“To reiterate what Barry said, thank you so much to everyone, you made that such an amazing atmosphere to play in.”

Runner-up Hawkins reacted: “I felt like I was just holding onto Kyren all day, I felt like he was playing better than me, he was the stronger player.

“In the end at 9-9 it’s anybody’s. I’ve had a great week, great crowd, great support, another good tournament so onwards and upwards. It’s been a good season so far.

“It’s a shame I didn’t get the win but Kyren deserved the win, he played better than I did.”
